Fruit delivered by bike -a triple win
The Swedish Food Agency recommends eating 500 grams of fruit and vegetables, daily1. This advice is based on a lot of scientific studies saying that fruit and vegetables contributes to reduced risk of cancer, high blood pressure, high levels of LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol), cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. This can come from the different nutrients found in fruit and vegetables such as fiber, folic acid, carotene, lycopene, vitamin C and antioxidants, and how they interact.
Around half of the recommended 500 grams should be fruit, which means around three fruits per day! Bananas is the number one selling fruit in Sweden, followed by apples. As different fruits and vegetables contain different nutrients, it is good to vary what you eat.
The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation points out that it is extra important to choose organic bananas and grapes, as these fruits otherwise often are farmed using a lot of pesticides2. In a sample control made by the Swedish Food Agency, a packet of raisins where found to contain 24 different pesticides.
Offering fresh, organic fruit in the office is today common among employers and obviously a very good thing! A downside is that this constant refilling of office fruit adds to the number of delivery vans in the city, using up space and adding traffic risk, noise and emissions.
Well, now you can probably guess what is coming... We can refill your fruit basket using bikes instead of delivery vans, keeping the city as nice as it should be and also using just a fraction of the energy and resources!
We can deliver quickly and cost efficiently by bike thanks to our four superpowers: hubs, bikes, riders and tech. In our centrally located hubs, we receive the fruit and reload it on our own cargo bikes, especially developed to have high cargo capacity and still be narrow enough to fit on bike lanes. Our well trained riders, often university students, use our own tech to find the shortest, fastest route to your office.
Ask your fruit supplier if they deliver by bike! Or contact us and we will let you know who to order from!
